Unisec’s MD Lemi Gezer in the news…

Lemi recently featured in the Hull Daily Mail

“A brave cage fighter has described the moment he chased a thief through Hull city centre before holding him under citizen’s arrest until police arrived.

Lemi Gezer, who runs his own security firm, UniSec, was left shocked when he saw a man pedalling away on a stolen bike with its helpless owner in pursuit.

Determined to help, Mr Gezer began chasing after the culprit, but after struggling to keep up he ran back towards his car to hunt down the thief.

“He was putting his foot down so I jumped in my car and came across him on Ferensway,” he said. “I saw him just outside the train station walking with the bike and I thought ‘I’m getting out of the car and I’m going to get him.’

“As soon as he saw me running towards him he just chucked the bike towards me and I managed to grab him and put him in an arm lock.

After calling Humberside Police, who have since confirmed that the theft took place, the bouncer kept a tight grip on the thief and managed to apprehend him for 10 minutes until police arrived around 12.30pm on Wednesday.

Mr Gezer was glad to put his experience as a doorman to the test in a real-life scenario and said it felt “amazing and fantastic” to help out the victim of the theft. “It doesn’t matter how much the bike is worth or what brand is,” he said.”
